Improve your health, reduce your heart risks
If you or a loved one has had heart surgery, a heart attack or other cardiac event, cardiac rehabilitation plays a vital role in your recovery. Cardiac rehab:
- Speeds healing.
- Helps reduce heart disease symptoms.
- Lowers the chances of having more heart problems.
In fact, research shows patients who complete cardiac rehab dramatically reduce their risk of death or having a heart attack
You’ll be glad to know Adventist Health Northwest Heart Center offers a comprehensive, nationally certified cardiac rehabilitation program.
What does cardiac rehabilitation involve?
Cardiac rehab is a specialized 12-week program of monitored exercise and educational classes tailored to your unique health and lifestyle needs. It starts with a one-on-one health evaluation and includes:
A medically monitored exercise program to strengthen your heart. Offered in our well-equipped gyms, it’s safe, appropriate for your age and physical abilities, and tailored to your personal goals and lifestyle. When you complete the program, we’ll also develop a home exercise regimen to help you maintain your heart health.
Personalized education about healthy living to reduce heart risks. Classes address risk-reduction strategies including weight loss, medication management, nutrition and how to cook heart-healthy meals, controlling cholesterol and blood pressure, and stress management.
Your cardiac rehab team includes registered nurses and exercise physiologists all working together to help you in your recovery.
